Online clothes shops for every budget and taste
Shopping online has never been easier thanks to a wealth of retailers cropping up on the world wide web, making retail therapy possible with just one click.
And, with online sales up 18.4 per cent last year, it’s becoming clear that the majority of us are taking to our screens to snap up the latest deals.
From affordable fast-fashion to high-end designer threads, offering reasonable delivery options, designer discounts and hassle-free returns, there’s never been a better time to order from the luxury of your home.
ASOS
(standing for “as seen on screen”) was founded in 2000 and now sells over 350 brands to 200 countries. Quickly becoming the go-to destination for twenty-somethings keen to get their hands on fast fashion for an affordable price, the marketplace has seen sales rocket over the past year as shoppers take advantage of the low annual delivery fee and reasonable price tags.
We have yet to find a more reasonable delivery offer, with premium and next-day delivery for a whole year offered for an impressive £9.95.
Kitri Studio
Haeni Kim founded Kitri Studio in her late twenties when she didn’t know where to shop, feeling she’d outgrown low-price high-street shops but couldn’t afford high-end designer labels. The result is a colourful range of classic silhouettes with a modern twist, all made to a standard that feels far more expensive than the price-point – which, by the way, is around £80 for a blouse and from £125 for a dress.
We particularly love its square-neckline dresses and ruched-neck blouses, and the fact that all its designs are made in limited quantities so you don’t have to worry about everyone having the same dress. UK shipping is free on orders over £45.
Finery London
Finery London was launched by former Topshop and ASOS employees in 2015 and makes grown-up, well-made pieces to lust over that won’t completely wipe out your bank balance.
Dresses start from £99 and tops from £39. Our favourite pieces are those in modern, colourful, geometric prints – particularly the midi skirts in fashionable wrap or bias-cut styles. Shipping is £6 or free on orders over £60.
Trouva
Best known for homeware, Trouva’s “Lifestyle” section also covers women’s, men’s and children’s clothing, shoes and accessories, all for sale from some of Europe’s best independent boutiques.
It’s the perfect place to discover new brands, from LA-based Rails to Rodebjer, which was found by a Swede living in New York, alongside the better-known Ganni and Samsoe & Samsoe. Our favourite part is that delivery is a flat price (£2.99 from UK-based shops and £7.49 from other countries) for one order, regardless of how many boutiques you’re ordering from at once.
